several things could be causing wobble.....check alignment and tire pressure....check the shocks make sure they are not loose......look at stablizer to make sure its not leaking........check all bolts and brackets to make sure tight.....get someone to turn the wheel side to side and look for flex and or shifting in bolts, and brackets........did your kit come with the front and rear track bar brace? if not get it i had both rip off the axle.....i got one of the first sj lifts and they didn't even offer it in the kits when the jk first came out....but they do now.....

I had a SkyJacker lift (still have some of it remaining on my JK), 35" tires, aftermarket driveshafts, etc..., and after installing a new front axle, I had some serious w-o-b-b-l-e. Now, I had a HD steering stabilizer, and that hid the problem, but, the steering stablizer nut worked itself off and the stabilizer came off on the freeway at 65 mph. One of the scariest moments, ever.

Did everything that was recommended to do: all new adjustable front end from TeraFlex; new HD adjustable track bar; replaced all ball-joints in the axle; set and re-set, and set again, the caster angle; had it professionally aligned (multiple times); balanced tires (including road-force tested); rotated tires; had different rims & tires put on; but, every test drive without the steering stabilizer would result in w-o-b-b-l-e.
The shop that was helping me contacted several reputable industry leaders, and was told that their solution was to set the "toe-out" a bit greater than specs. The shop tested numerous setting and finally had it set to where during all test drives, without the steering stabilizer, it would NOT w-o-b-b-l-e. We tried different speeds, and hit every bump in the road, no wobble. (I put the stabilizer back on for good measure anyhow.)

I know that my tires are going to wear out sooner than expected, and the steering is a bit more "flighty," I guess you could say. But, after the significant w-o-b-b-l-e I experienced, anything that "cures" it is a blessing.

There is one more thing that I can try, and that is to change my track bar mount. I am looking into the best one for my application, and when time dictates, I will install.

**disclaimer: running the "toe-out" a bit greater than specs is working for me; I am providing this as information only. If you chose to do the same, do so at your own risk. I know everyone has an opinion on this w-o-b-b-l-e issue, and I am just providing information on what has helped me so far in my quest to rid myself of the dreaded w-o-b-b-l-e problem. **

For the clicking, it sounds like the stock driveshaft is on the way out, but also check out the shock bushings. I have heard of a ton of people who got bad ones and they rattle and make a lot of noise...

For the wobble, I am inclined to start with the easiest / cheapest and work my way outward from there.

The first thing to check is to torque everything down. Off the top of my head...the control arms should be at 130 ft-lbs and I believe the track bar is the same. (you can find instructions online at superlift's or teraflex's site to verify the #'s)

Second, as mentioned above check your toe-in. As you go with bigger tires and lift, your toe-in will decrease and Way-of-life has also mentioned a few who ended up with toe-out. It is really easy to adjust and there is a write-up for self alignments.

Last but not least, you might rotate your tires and see if the wobble changes. If that doesn't work, get the tires balanced.

If those easy things don't get you there, then you have to start looking into more expensive options. If you don't have an adjustable front track bar, you'll probably want one eventually. Worst case scenario, one of the C's at the end of the axles could be bent and you could have a camber problem , but if it hasn't been wheeled hard that is not likely.

Good luck from a former Salinan,

Anyone else have the clicking sound. I would also like to know if others axels are shifted mine is 3/4 in to the drivers side is this normal. If I get an adjustable front trac bar. Will I also have to change the back to keep them in line with each other. Any thoughts.

After rereading this thread, you should call TeraFlex and talk to Joe Thompson, he's the sponsor contact for this site. Sounds like you need front lower control arms and possibly a Track Bar relocation bracket (but the bracket depends on your lift). In reference to your wobble is the track bar mount cracked off the frame or is it still solid? What sort of SS do you have, is it still good. Did the guy you bought it from do the lift himself or did he have a store put it on for him. Have you called skyjacker? Just tryin to help man, hope it works out for ya.

I second that, somewhere out there is a 97 TJ with a drivers seat that smells like pee.

I'll never forget the death wobble, just for the record....my culprit was a front trackbar that wasn't tight enough.
