Default Who's breaking axle shafts??

And how are you doing it? Hardcore trails? Wheel bound up? Freak event snappage? I'm not interested in the u-joint cap spinning and "did the dealer cover it" stories. I wanna know real world, real wheeling experiences. I know the general limitations of Dana 30, 44, and 60 and I've broken plenty of each Well, actually I never managed to break a D60 front but nevermind.

I wanna know who's wheelin' w/ 35's and/or 37's are how are the axle shafts holding up. I really want to go w/ 37's but I know I'll be at the upper end of the threshold not to mention the effects on mpg's. But with such a long wheelbase it would be nice. I may settle w/ 35's but can't decide.

I'm pretty sure that Off Road Evolution finally broke one of their D30 front axles but they've been playing real hard for a while now and on 37's. He Mel, if you're reading this, please provide the details

A guy on my other Michigan board who works for chrysler proving grounds says he watched a guy really tear his stock axles to pieces with 37s. Sorry, no first hand experience, but sounds like what you are looking for.

yep, that's the kinda stuff I wanna know. I fell like the axles would hold up pretty good w/ 37's, especially w/ alloys. sounds like most people are doing ok with them.

Yeah d30s are gonna bust, I'd like to hear more from the Rubi crowd. Can't wait for 1350 size CTMs and chromo shafts, that should hold 37s pretty well on the new d44.

Where are all these people who are breaking their dana 30's? If the 30 is as weak as you (zachman) say it is, why don't we hear about them on one of the forums? With the exception of a few people on the forums, it's always somebody's brothers cousins aunts sisters friend that doesn't even have a Jk that breaks them.
