Very cool... Now I'm going to look at the hard tops for sale in an entirely new light...

This looks great! I can see the price of used hardtops going up already. And Bestop comming out with a similar product. Again it looks great!

I noticed the soft-top is still installed. Maybe you could rig it so that it covers the back up to the new hardtop? I bet you could find a top for a 2-door real cheap, then get your family out of the house and play Dr. Frankenstein again.

It's funny, I just put my hard top back on today and was wondering why in the hell they didn't make the back section over the rear seats (also an unlimited here) it's own panel to create a complete hard safari top.

What you did looks really killer and if I see a cheapie I think I might spring for it. Although for me I'd have left it about 6" longer to completely cover the rear roll bar and provide a bit of a lip.

to you for having the stones to rip into a hard top like that and come out with a great custom safari!

That actually looks sweet

Ok this is what you do to surprise the wife when she comes home put the rest of the top on and hook some fishing line to the back cutoff part and ask her to get something out of the jeep and when she opens the door pull the back of the top off haha

That is what I originally planned to do, but I could not figure out a way to make it look right, so I took the easy way out and cut it at the front of the side window.
