Default Will 35s fix DW?

Yes I've done my homework and searched this question but never found a clear answer for my specific problem....

07 sahara unlimited had DW after my 2.5BB lift...
Did a front alignment & inspection and no solution

Did a tire balance and that fixed it for approx 2 weeks

DW came back... Stabilizer goes on tomorrow but curious if once I take my 32s off and put my 35s will the size and weight help stop that DW or the exact opposite ..... Make it worse?

35's will make it worse. More oscillating mass = more severe DW.

If you have DW after putting a BB on, I would stop doing ANY mods until the DW is solved. You balance didn't solve the DW, it just reduced how often it happened. Your root cause (most likely track bar related) is still there.

To reiterate, the 35s will make the problem worse. A steering stabilizer is a mask to your actual problem and not a very good one at that. You have some linkage loose or worn.

Pull your trackbar mounting bolts out and see if they are loose in the mounting holes. Chances are they are.
You are absolutely correct sir. If your problem is actually DW, it is a track bar issue.

The track bar is the most likely culprit but certainly not the only thing that causes death wobble. Anything that causes a positive feedback mechanism can be the culprit. Planman has a comprehensive list of what to check and most importantly step one is to remove the steering stabilizer from the mix. Not replacing it but removing it until you have found the issue.

On another platform, Dodge Ram 25/3500 there are several people who have had death wobble issues that were tied to the frame horns. If you want to beat yourself up pretty bad looking for a solution with suspension parts to find a solution that would be it. The final solution for myself and others were tying the frame horns together with a steering box brace. An easy fix, but what was a difficult one to unearth.

So if it could be the frame rails on a vehicle, it could certainly be something other than a track bar on a JK. It's definitely where you start checking things, after getting the steering stabilizer removed, but it wouldn't be an end all.

bumpsteer can also mask itself as DW. I had a case were I have 3 inch lift, and 35's. For the longest I had a case of the shakes. What I found is my trackbar was out of alignment with the drag link by less then a inch. I took my time and adjusted mine correctly and now my bumpsteer is gone.

After I had mine corrected I dont even run a steering stab. But now my drag link is starting to go so my bumper steer is back.

So I was just told by the shop that it's the ball joints both sides that are completely shot. Looking at 250 for parts and 350 for labor... Ouch!!
