Default Will a 5 inch backspacing work?

I am looking at a set of Cragar Soft 8 with 5" of backspacing with a set of BFG Km2's 35X12.5X17 will this work or will I have a rubbing issue with a 2.5-3" lift?

What is the width? 5" of backspacing on a 9" wheel is the the same offset as 4.5" of backspacing on an 8" wheel.

Stock backspacing is 4.5" on the 17" wheel if I am not mistaken? Is that correct?

From the FAQ page on the Modified Forum:

Backspacing on all factory wheels is 6.25"

Sheesh. I run 3.5" of backspacing and I still get the tire to rub the frame if I am turning and flexing. I have 13.5" wide tires. I think 3.5" is about perfect. I need to do some longer bumpstops anyway which might eliminate the slight rubbing.

Byt the way. 5" of backspacing is 5"....regardless of wheel width.

Yes, 5" of backspacing is always 5" of backspacing, but wheels with different backspacing can have the same offset depending on wheel width. Are you rubbing the upper part of the inner fender when flexed, or is it rubbing the control arms/frame when you turn the wheels?

I recently installed a 2.5 Teraflex with Cragar 16X8 with 5inch BS and the only rubbing so far is on the stupid air damn thing under the front bumper. I think it might be rubbing the brake calipers but its ever so slightly, I cant tell for sure.

I have 17x8.5 inch wheels with 5.75" back spacing Probably the only one on here that I know of with that tight of backspacing and I am running 12.50 35's.

You will be fine with 5"
