Default Will cutting front frame rails void warranty

I wanna cut front frame rail to get a better approach angle. There will be about 2", if that, left sticking in front of the plastic grill. Will make a custom stubby bumper. I'm wondering if the warranty will be voided?

I can't see where that would have an effect on anything (warranty) beyond that section of the frame.

Are you contemplating cutting a section out from behind bumper mount pads, then welding the pads back on?
Or, are you talking about cutting off the compatibility bar, that hangs below the frame?

I was going to cut that compatability bar out/off and if you draw an imaginary line across the frame from side to side I would cut it just in front of where the rubber hold gromet for the electric sway bar disconnect is. Then weld the original bumper pads back on and then take 1/4" plate and make a stubby bumper 33" across (frame rail to frame rail) by about 9" wide

Poison spyder makes a nice bumper, the bfh series, designed for your idea. Winch integrated as well.

I can't see it affecting your warranty, but just ask your dealer. Fact is, they have to prove your mods caused a part failure before they can deny warranty work. I can't see a failure that could be associated with a frame chop.

Good luck, and do a write up with pics if you go forward with the idea. Always nice to read those threads.

But it may affect your insurance policy and inspection [if you have one]. Modifying a structural part of a vehicle can void your insurance policy for knowingly making your vehicle less safe.

Yeah. I don't know anything about your state, but PA requires proof of insurance before they issue you plates.

I believe any frame modifications renders your vehicle totaled according to the insurance company

There are some lifts out there (trucks, jeeps, etc.) where ya gotta weld on the frame. What about when people put snow plows on trucks and gotta drill holes???
All I'm sayin is I think if I do what I wanna do, I don't think anybody is gonna be wise to the deal and I wil be fine on that part as far as the insurance goes. I just wondered if anybody had any experience in the ole dealership dept. on the warranty thing, or if anybody got told from dealer that their warranty was void for choppin some of the front over hang off. I'm tired of my jeep getting in the other state 2 feet before the rest of the body gets there. I hate that front over hang on jeeps.
