You got me there....? I run Banks so I can't help in that decision but I would venture a guess that there are at least a few threads on here comparing the two. Just a guess but I'm thinking that it's really going to be a sound preference on those. There are some Youtube clips of JK exhaust sounds and performance too.

Personally, I vote Banks Monster Exhaust, even though it's not on your list.

I'm going with a Flowmaster, simply because of its tough welded construction. I'm not looking for a great increase in power, I just want a better exhaust note.

I ran a flowmaster and it rusted out at the welds. I would strongly suggest painting the muffler with a high temp black paint in several coats to help it last longer. I used BBQ grill paint.

And as for your original question. If you really want some more power -

MBRP exhausts post a good dyno gain with their catback systems. Flowmaster is decent as well, but is a custom job with no warranty.

I run a AEM Brute force in addition to my MBRP standard exhaust. My jeep has a beautiful DEEP V8 tone without being overly loud. However, for the best "whoa nelly" gain, since you already have gears... is a Superchips Flashpaq. Or if you are really rich, a blower or HEMI swap.

I personally am gunning to get a Superchips Flashpaq soon myself to see if it helps with my 3.21 gears and 33s.

I think that tornado thing is a scam beacuse when you add it to your cart and go to "view cart" it has all these random pop ups. I want to learn more about it though...if it actually exists.

I already tried that but he's got an AEV Procal already. I do like the paint idea though. I painted my tip with Ceramic based "header paint" that has to cure through heat but is really tough and chemical/heat resistant when it's cured. I'm thinking about doing the rest of the exhaust as well. Just a tip though if you do that...don't bake it in your kitchen...Please learn from my experience. It's not worth the headache...literally. It can be heat cured directly on the vehicle.

I've been reading alot about what makes horse power and what can change horse power and torque. I have to admit that I don't have hundreds or thousands of dollars to throw at my jeep like i wished i could. So for me its always an issue of alternatives. I looked at AFE's custom stainless cat back and intake package. I don't think I could live with myself if I had that package. You can get the setup for about 575 or 600 and it gives you a whopping 10 hp. Torque is supposedly more. But come on. I think I could get 10 hp out of my custom homemade 18 dollar intake and the 25 dollar clamp on glass-pack that is mounted under the drivers side. I don't really know a whole lot, or clame to at all. But there is just something that doesn't sit well with me seeing these numbers and prices. Can somebody please give me a clue.

All of the popular things discussed will not do much for you. A Jeep is a Jeep. Never intended to be a power wagon. The only sure thing is a Hemi. everything else is just window dressing and sound enhancing. I've tried many "sucker" hp gimicks in my 50+ years of owning cars and the only prooven gain is more cu in or forced air. I have the super chip and in my opinion, it is good for adjusting for tire size, gear ratio and a couple other settings. Engine performance is negligable at best. Some claim big gains, but it's only in their mind and what they hear. I'll bet an actual dino test would show a slight improvement at WOT only. I have one and have tried all power settings except the 93 octane. The only change that I see is reduces mpgs. I don't need more power, as I got that out of my system 30 years ago, so I look for honest changes and am not afraid to admit that something doesn't work. Don't buy the Superchip for the power trip. It aint there. You want beter performance, have a hemi installed and you will have a rear sleeper.

Have fun.

well there is a mom and pop exhaust place around my parents house and they quoted me 195 + tax for a catback for either a magnaflow or a flowmaster 40 series muffler.

Yeah.... I guess that makes sense since most people that are looking at sub $100 performance mods are also the same ones in the category of those considering dropping the...close to $10,000+ on a HEMI upgrade.

Even a RIPP Supercharger is $4200 ON SALE.

The "negligible gains" from smaller mods like a tuner, exhaust, and intake can really make a difference when you're building on a budget.

Anyhow, here's some of the youtube vids with sound to compare:

Flowmaster has a very good warranty and stands behind it. Had a 40 series fall off my first stang and flowmaster replaced it free of charge, cause it cracked where the body meets the outlet pipe. Not sure with magnaflow never used them. Never cared for the way magnaflow sounded, so I have no experience with them.
