How do I know/Will I need spacers on stock Rubicon wheels with Goodyear Wrangler MTR's in 305/70/17 (34x12x17 equivalent)? Thanks.

I would say yes. Rubbing is not a good thing.

which ones do you think - quadratec has 1" teraflex and 1.5" spidertrax. does it just come down to wanted a wider stance for looks? or is one more appropriate for my tires/wheels/lift

I would go with the 1.5 the 1" you will have to grind or cut off the part of the stud sticking through have do to that to my 1.25" a hair

1.5 would be best but you can also look at ebay. They are a lot cheaper and there isn't anything wrong or unsafe about them.

I would agree, i'm running 1.5 inch ebay spacers and beat the living crap out of them every chance i get... so far, not one single issue!

As mentioned, you'll want 1.5" as anything less will require you to grind down your studs.
