will this lift work??
I plan on putting 35s on stock wheels on my 2 door 2011 JK and I want to know if either of two kits I've picked out will work for me. I don't plan on doing a lot of crazy offroading, just mild stuff. I also want to know if I will have to buy anything else to make these kits work the way I need them to. I am very new to the Jeep world and appreciate the help!!
the first kit is this one: 2.5in Suspension Lift Kit (Coils) for 07-15 Jeep JK Wrangler | Rough Country Suspension Systems
and here is the second one: 3.5in Suspension Lift Kit for 07-15 Jeep JK Wrangler [608S] | Rough Country Suspension Systems

Stick with 2.5" so you avoid steering issues. You'll need a min of 1.5" wheel spacers.
Other can comment on the lifts themselves, but I suspect they're lacking. With a 2-door, you'll want a way to adjust caster or the ride will suffer a lot.

My suggestion would be to try to avoid rough country lifts, I know they are cheap, but you get what you pay for. In the end you could potentially pay more for the cheaper lift then spending some extra money the first time.
)Since you are new, you might open the two threads stuck right to the top of this modified area. There is a lot of good stuff in them, and if nothing else, you will pick up some useful information on the specific components you might want, and maybe even why you might want them.
With that being said about the rough country lifts, what would be something that's good quality but won't break the bank? And is $500 a decent budget for a 2.5" lift or am I being too cheap?
I've heard the same thing for others about the rough country kits and I'm not going to be doing too much off-roading, like I said mild stuff. Which makes me want to know why some would say to avoid them? Is it because they can't handle hard use? Or because they just don't hold up over time, even with little stress from off-roading?

I bought a 2012 jk that had the 2 1/2" RC budget block lift ($139) already installed and 35" tires. The only thing I've done is add the RC sway bar disconnects, added truetracs to the front and rear and changed the gears to 4.56 yukons. The jeep rides and drives like stock and clears the tires just fine. If it's just for moderate use, then you can save $$ on the lift springs and spend it on gears. You'll need them. Just something to consider.
I'm mean that's just my opinion on R/C lifts you can buy whatever kind you would like, I'd go with the teraflex 2.5 lift but here is a pro comp lift for $519.
