Default Will Lower CA's Work for Caster?

I originally planned on using upper control arms to adjust my caster, but hadn't commited to the purchase yet. I have a freind who has a set of Full Traction lower adj. front control arms he doesn't need and will sell very cheap. My question is, can I use the front lowers to adjust caster or would I need uppers instead?

What RuBob said, pushing your front axle forward will change your caster and it might be something worth trying. However, you might see problems with rubbing where you didn't before (aftermarket front bumper, sway bar...) and if you have an aftermarket diff cover, your track bar might make contact with it.

Great info. Might give it a try. Approx. how far would I need to adjust them out to get the 6-7* of caster?

Hard to say for sure but maybe 1/4"-1/2" longer than stock?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but just putting on lowers arms might get your caster closer to being right, but isn't that going to give you a worse pinion angle by twisting the drivershaft input at the diff down?

If you go too far then yes the pinion angle will get worse. The key is to find a happr medium that will give you enough caster without giving negative results due to too much pinion angle.

The same thing happens even if you use upper arms but so long as you are sticking with the factory shaft which uses CV joints, it will not be a problem. If you use an aftermarket double cardin U-Joint style shaft, you will only be able to go so far before you get vibes. +6° is usually about as much as you can go.
