Default Will a small angle grinder work?

I've got a set of Smitty XRC sliders installed but at the rear upper control arm bracket it sits snug against it and grinds on it. Could I use a small angle grinder on the slider to grind it down and if so which do you prefer? I was looking at the 4.5" angle grinder by either dewalt or bosch. And if not what should I use instead? One shop quoted me $75 to take them off, plasma cut them, and re-install. But figured for that price I can spend that on a tool that I can re-use and get a little time under the jeep. Plus it will give me an excuse to get the jack stands I want too

I tried to highlight the area that I am talking about within the "yellowish" circle.

harbor freight has an angle grinder for 6 bucks, and the cut off and grind wheel for an additional 5 each.

Don't buy a grinder from harbor freight unless you plan on buying all the accessories from there also like cut off wheels and such. Most of the stuff you buy from harbor freight is not supported by other companies meaning if you need stuff for your power tool you wont be able to go to a local hardware store for parts and accessories. Don't get me wrong I love harbor freight but the closest one to me is 2 hrs.
