I have to thank you guys again,I was on here before with problems,similar to yours.
When I got the new tires the shop aired them to 45PSI and I was all over the placevery dangerous.
I read here and aired to 30 PSI and I'm so happy
I have control of my Jeep again
Even with an after market stabilizer it was still hard to handle,airing down really helps

 

Well guys I have driven about 100 miles on the aired down tires, 30psi, and man what an improvement! Thanks for all the info and great advice.

 

What's recommended to Air Down to on 37's?

 

i'm running 26 psi on my toyo mt's but other tire makes with thinner sidewalls may need closer to 28 psi.

On my 37" super swampers, I'm also running 26 psi. Seems to be ideal for good handling and a comfortable ride.

 

how does the tire wear look at the lower psi?

 

It is much better. You wear evenly across the tread instead of just the middle.

This isn't something people are doing to make the ride better...this is where the tire is supposed to be run. The psi rating on the side of the tire is a maximum not a requirement. It is adjustable depending on the weight of the vehicle sitting on top of them.

 

If you're not wearing evenly, too much psi

 

i aired my 33's down from 40 to 28 and alls good
