hey guys I was just wondering if i could possibly put a winch on the stock bumber?? i doubt it but id rather make sure. Thanks

Yes, in a way. Warn makes a kit that will fit their winches with a stock bumper. Don't have a pic offhand, but put one on my Jeep last year. Used it to pull my wifes 1-ton truck out of the front yard (long story :lol: )

If I believe correctly, the winch mount kit for the stock bumper was around $300. It requires removing the stock bumper, installing the winch mount, then reinstalling the bumper. It's a PITA and takes about 5 hours. The good point is that the Warn mount comes with new tow-hooks that are better than the stockers

there are several companies that make winch plates for the stock JK bumper.
Rough Country would be the one I would get though.

I would look for any excuse to dump the stock bumper. A sweet winch would be a great one.

I just put a M8000 Warn and Warn winch plate on the stock Rubicon bumper. If this ol Fart (66) can anyone can....Don't worry just take your time.

I wanted to do the same thing so I went with the Rough Country winch mount.

I have attached a picture of the completed product.
