Well,

Looks like the 33"s will be slightly out of my price range with mounting and balancing, so it will be the winch and bumper after all. I think I should be able to get the tires when my income tax check comes in though.

Yep option 2 Fosur! It will be much easier to sell new tires to your wife once you start slipping and sliding around. After all she does want you to be safe...... right?

Look into treadwright tires I just got a set of 315/75R16 for $600 can't really beat that and 33's would be even cheaper.

Let's talk practical expenditure of funds:
Winch (I have that same winch, good choice IMO, but the price is creeping up, so get it now and be able to self recover) (~$450)
Then check Craigslist for some cheap takeoff 17" tires (~$350 - all 5), toss on the teraflex kit you have with spidertrax spacers (~$200) and all you're out is 1/2" of tire lift.
The rear bumper serves no real practical purpose assuming you have a rear tow hook and you could pick that up for $20-free from others taking theirs off.

Sell the 16" to a used tire shop and get a few bang back.

Get stock M/T takeoffs and you might have enough left over for the winch. 32" M/Ts will still be a significant upgrade over stock street tires.

Meh, I'd rather wait and get some 33"s than settle for something smaller, just to go bigger soon after.

They show about $113 per tire for their 285/75/16, so with a set of 5 and another $132 shipping, I'm at $700 before taking them somewhere to be mounted and balanced. Is that worth it for retreads? I'm not being a smartass, I'm really asking. I've never had a retreaded tire before. I'm not going to have a blowout on the way to work, am I? How are their Guard Dogs in mud?
