I'm looking for the light weight hook for a winch line. I do believe that they are made of cast aluminum and usually powder coated yellow. I've seen some on members rig pix.. Where can I buy? Pix And do you like? Seen one yesterday on a locals wrecker service truck, he had no ideal where he got it.

 

I have never seen a cast hook for a winch before. Are they strong enough for what is required of them? I purchased my hook when I bought my synthetic line. It is a yellow hook with a safety clip.

 

This hook is only ounces in weight. May not be aluminum, but not steel. Maybe some type of alloy. It is cast. The driver of the wrecker said he snapped his 3/8 winch line pulling out a rolled 3/4 ton truck. Must hold it's own? Or his line was 3/8's when it was new.. Lol
