Default Winch Install?

I've never installed a winch nor used a winch before. I bought a winch stubby bumper and I'm getting ready to install a winch. How difficult is it to install a winch? How about the electrical part? Is it just positve and ground wiring? Help

I don't think you'll have any problems installing the winch. Yep, you should just need to run a couple large cables up to the battery. There are a couple threads here about how folks have done that (routing, protection from potential damage, etc). Check around a little and I think you'll decide it's easy enough for you to do.

BTW: There are the occasional winch/bumper combo that don't work out well sometimes. You might make certain that others have installed your combo without a hitch.

Every winch and bumper combo is a little different. This is a picture install of a bumper and winch. It has lots of pictures and I thought it might help you with the idea of doing it yourself. It is genarlly pretty straight forward. I am really looking forward to my new winch and you must post a pic when you get yours installed. I have spent my wallet for lots of other stuff so waiting is killing me but I am fortunate to have so much and I can't complain too loud.
