Default Winch Lock/Protection?

Has anyone seen a product that covers the fairlead to keep people from messing with the hook/cable? I haven't had a bad experience yet, but I want to be pre-emptive. I searched around and didn't come up with anything.

Yes, I understand your concern. First of all, I only bought the $300 4x4Parts winch, xince I think
no one will want to rip it off. but, I did spend a couple of hundered on a synthetic rope, that is my concern. So, becasue the big hook is permanity connected to the rope. I bought a heavy duty
long U lock, and lock the hook to the top metal bar across the top of the winch. Also, I Gorilla
Glue over many of the botls on the truck help deter any theif.

What if You need to remove some of those bolts?

PS: this reminds me of USSR, I remember how everyone would take the windshield wipers with them, so no one steals them.

I never heard of winch theft in my life. I have a friend in Brooklyn who got a 9inch touch screen monitor, and a CB, both mounted where the factory radio/climate controls are in his TJ. He had it for a while, never ever someone broke into his jeep.

That is an awesome piece. Who makes this? Google turns up nothing. Reminds me of my neighbor who use to have the first two shots loaded with salt rock, and the next four with cow killers!
Figured if the warning didn't work, it would be time to put them down.

Think that will be my next upgrade!

crank the cable tight with the hook against the roller fair lead
once tight there is no messing with anything.
then unplug power source from batter and that will keep the from jumping the contacts to un-spool the cable.
