Default Winch Plate

I will be getting a winch by the end of the week but I don't know where I can mount it to. Looking for ideas and help. I have the stock bumper, with an Aires 1 Grille guard mounted to it. I want it up front, but I think may settle with a tow mount winch. Any ideas at all?

depending on what winch you're looking to get i believe rough country make's one that fits the stock
jk bumper. you'll have to contact them and find out, here's a link to the site: http://www.roughcountry.com/winch_mounts.html

if it fits, install might involve some cutting of the stock bumper to accommodate the winch plate.

Warn sells one also that fits the factory bumper, warn.com/truck/mounting-systems/winch_mounts.shtml

it's Part# PN 74247 which is 2nd on the list.

hope this helps!!!!

Superwinch also has one that mounts to the factory bumper, superwinch.com/Jeep_Kits.html. the last one on the list, but you should call to find out which winch it fits.

You could always hide it upside down inside the bumper like a member did to theirs. Then get the liscense plate mount for the rollers. When your on the trail just theow the lisence plate in the back and put it back on when you hit the road.

yeah it looks nice and all when its down in the bumper, but i did mine right ways up, cause think about it. if your winch is mounted upside down, that means your engage/disengage lever is under your bumper, and it means you cant see your drum when spooling cable in. but back to the lever. see how this jeep is going into some mud? what if the mud comes up to his bumper and he gets stuck? now he's gotta reach his arm down THROUGH the mud, under his bumper, to engage the gear. that's a little much for me. IMO

I also have the RC bumper mount and love it. Much lighter than a replacement bumper...

the RC one is nice but i think he wants to keep his grille guard which would cause a problem unless he is willing to cut it a little and reloacte the lights
