Default Winch Q?

I am getting ready to ut the hole in my bumper for a fairlead on my homemade bumper. The winch will be added down the road and i do not hae acess to a fairlead at this time so i am wondering how big of a hole should i cut out and how offset it "should" be?

Thanks

i would wait until you get the winch and then take measurements. some winches will barely fit inbetween the framerails so i would wait. i know that the powerplant winch fairlead is offest to the right (facing the jeep) see the shrockworks front bumper.

yeah, i won't have a winch good while, maybe x-mas time but i don't want to build, powdercoat and then cut a hole down the road and have to re-finish.

Maybe somebody on a local Jeep board (if nobody on here's local) can let you borrow a winch for "mock up" purposes.

Or buy a cheap one, fit it up, and then return it for a refund

1.5" x 8.5" slot, offset 2" to driver side from centerline. 1/2"Bolt holes 10.0" center to center.

Merry xmas.
