winch solenoid bracket
Ok, I know this has been covered, but I saw the other day someone asking how to mount the solenoid for a winch. There are several options, you can use BIG hose clamps and mount it to the winch, you can BUY a bracket from Warn, or make your own, the way you want it. Here is mine, and how I did it. I went to Tractor Supply and bought a solid flat steel bar(1x36x3/16) and 2 machine screws, lock washers and nuts(1/4-20x1)

I heated the flat bar and made a bend about 3 inches from one end, then heated it again and bent it back about an inch or two past the first bend, creating sort of an "S". I found the center of the frame brace under the bumper and drilled 2 holes for the bolts and installed the bracket up between the winch and the grill.

Heres another view

and another from the center lookin up to the winch

Then I just marked were the solenoid needed to mount, drilled my holes and cut off the extra flat bar. Heres the finished product.

Really easy and only took about an hour. Total cost less some spray paint I had laying around is less than 10 bucks. Plus you feel good about doin somethin for yourself. Hope this helps

Thanks, Hellbilly. It's actually that $280 Metalcrafters grill, I got it a cheaper used, but it's very strong and will do a great job protecting the radiator/condenser from rocks, branches, some of those massive bugs (especially in SC) and such.

Rob, a simple L bracket from Lowes, black spray paint, a pair of stainless bolts/washers/nuts and a single hole drilled through the bumper (the FabFour actually didn't need that, the bumper cap bolts work perfectly) will let you mount yours just like mine with the Warn bracket.

Hey, I think Your the guy I got the idea to make my own bracket from in the first place!
I appreciate it edwin907! I thought your jeep looked familiar.
I'm an idiot for not recognizing it before.
