Winch storage????

Winch storage????
So out at a parking lot at a popular area. Came back and found my winch on free-wheel with the clutch turned toward the front.
No major damage just probably jerks trying to mess with my stuff.
So, I never have owned a winch.
My remote is stored. How to I rig it so it doesn't get messed with in the future?
I re-spooled it. But just don't want it to happen again.

Sorry to hear about that. Maybe get a cover for it? Mine is secured from underneath so it's a pain in the ass to get off but it's an extra deterrent for anyone. Other than that there isn't much you can do to prevent people from being dickheads.
