Default Winch time

It's time to buy a winch. My question is should I get the 10k or the 12k winch. Price diff between is not enough to bother me. What's the pros vs cons between them?

If price difference is not an issue, just go with a 12k. One of the differences if you care would be the line speeds between the two. I would definitely pick yourself up a snatch block at the same time, you never know. Typically want to be able to have a rating of 1.5 x of what you're pulling. So a 10k plus a block will do the trick for most Jeeps, but that extra 2k could help.

I have a vr10000 if I were doing it over I would get a vr12000. I can't see any down side to a 12000 vs 10000 as line speed does not matter to me.

I was very disappointed to read on the Warn box that my new winch was Made in China.

I bought a used warn that's a made around here model and I went all the way through it to freshen it up and I'll tell ya I wasn't impressed with the quality of any of the internals. I'll bet even the ones that are "made in the usa" are really more like assembled here by China made parts.

Don't forget that Warn sells parts for every winch they ever made. I would guess that stands for the Chinese ones also. I got my M15000 lb. for free and cleaned it up, replaced all worn parts for about 120 bucks. I thought it was a good deal !
