Question Winch weight.

How much does the front end drop from the weight of a 9500 lb. winch?

Boy, if the winch weighs 9500 lbs, I'd imagine the jeep would drop all the way to the ground

Sorry, couldn't resist Also don't have anything constructive to add

My Rubicon dropped 1/2" from the Powerplant alone. I don't have it mounted, because I'm waiting for the front bumper from Shrockworks, but I did set it up there and measured the difference. I imagine with the weight of the new bumper that I will drop about 1" total. I'm hoping David will send me the 1" coil spacers soon so that they're ready when the bumper comes in. I had ordered 1/2" ones on his advice and had to return them when I realized they would be wholly inadequate to compensate.

I have been hearing a bunch of different things. Anything from .5 inches to 1.5. Generally expect about .75.

Thanks. That brings up a new question; what to do about it? Spacer on the coil?

I added Mopar front and rear Off-road bumpers plus a Warn winch in the front and lost about 1-inch up front.

I just swapped out the steel cable for a synthetic winch line and noticed a gain of about a quarter inch. The steel winch cable seems to weigh about 15-20 lbs. when spindled up. So a steel winch cable make sa difference.

I plan on installing a Tereflex 2.5 BB plus Teraflex 0.5 spacer in the front next week. I'll post the results after...

Spacers or new coils. If you are getting a lift at some point, some offer heavy duty front springs with their lifts to compensate for the weight (full traction and OME come to mind).
