Quadratec charges about $65 in shipping and handling.

Winchdepot.com has the M8000 for $549 shipped.

You can't go wrong either way, just saves a little $

I'm just doing winch research right now. I probably won't get one til the fall. My next big purchase will be a front bumper. I want to see what the new SRC bumpers will look like for the JK. I know they are making changes, and we will probably see photos in a few weeks, but then 2-3 months before they're shipping. If theuy look close to the TJ version, that's what I'll get, if not, we'll see.

Warn has a new (and expensive) winch called a Dual Force. It has a built in air compressor. Pretty cool.

I am glad to know that. I am trying to decide between an AEV or Fab Fours front bumper for my JK. I was going ask them if that winch would fit. That will be a new factor in my decision. I wonder if it will fit in the Fab Fours bumper?

I love the Dual force, but I know I won't spend that much. I like the M8000 special right now, like $529, but I talked to a guy in my in my local club today (DSO) that had one and couldn't get it to work with synthetic line so he went back to steel. I will definitely want synthetic line eventually, so it looks like that one is out.

its not too wide to sit between the frame rails

the purjeep stuby bumper fits the new warn winch just fine between the frame rails

i think there will need to be some modifications made to make this winch work with the aev or the fab fours bumpers, but it will fit between the frame rails

I may be the only one that doesn't like the dual force winch. First, it is a lot of weight for the front end of a jeep, over 100 pounds. Second, Its too tall on the front. Third, I prefer separate components, when one part wears out, replace it. In a combo unit you have to replace both.

My preferred winch in the Ramsey Patriot 9500 UT with a synthetic line. Its just expensive.
