Wind Noise From Softtop On The Highways.
Hmmm Lets see... $5 or $1000+? (for a used one) I think I'm glad I went with the $5 one.
Also... How long does it take you to put a hard top on or take it off? If you are out and about and the weather it great and you want to take the hard top off... You can't... With this it take about 2 minutes to put on. it would take less than a minute if it was the T-Top style. Plus if you want to put your top down... Its thin and flat, it will store right behind the back seat and not take up any room. If you use the iso mat idea it can roll up and be used to sleep on as well.
Incase people didn't read the beginning part of the post... I have the soft top only option.
I was just looking for a cheap way of making the rides on the highway a little less noisy due to the wind noise. It worked great.
I love the idea of the military iso mat. The only issue with that is, it may not be wide enough. I think they are only 24" wide if I remember right, but then again it might be rigid enough to hold up just fine… Try it and let me know how it works.
I was also just thinking about how you could modify it even more... You could add pockets, a net, or a coulpe of hooks for storage or to hang something like a cb mic, sun glasses, hat, pen paper, maps or cell phone. There are lots of way to upgrade it.

Where can you get those at? I've seen them for the hard-tops before but never the soft-tops. I'd like to see them, I guess I'm not the 1st with that idea. lol
