Default Windjammer questions - for those that have them

For those of you who have the windjammer... Can you use it by itself without the bikini top or duster? Does it lose it's function without the bikini top - in other words, would it keep the wind off the back seat as much or just get blown away without the bikini top attached? This of course would mean I'd have to rig something with snaps or velcro at the bottom of the windjammer where it's supposed to attach to the duster. Anyone done that?

Give me your thoughts and thank you in advance.

I have one but rarely use it... it secures to both the soundbar and the bottom of the seats.... so, in theory, it should work fine. It's meant to zip to the duster, which probably provides some stability, but how much I can't say for sure.

Do you think you could use it without the bikini top and keep it from flying off down the road behind you?

It straps to the seat brackets on the bottom, to the sport bar on the sides and top. There's no way it can 'fly off down the road behind you'. It secures with 8-10 straps, even without zipping to the duster.

The only drawback I found with the windjammer is the mounting point on the seat brackets is so far forward, it does not allow you to put the front seats all the way back...I hope you are not too tall or need too much leg room, it will not allow much...

Mine is a 2 door windjammer, not sure if the 4 door is the same...

Definitely.

Last week. I went with the Mopar kit since people have a lot better things to say about the Mopar bikini.

Watch out for the duster tho, that thing was tight and I had to fight to get it on, even after letting it sit in the sun. I now have small dents under the lip of the tub where the plastic dented it going into the lip.

I don't think you're going to have 8-10 stap points on the 4 door behind the back seats. That's what I'm after. Will this thing work behind the back seat of the 4 door without the bikini top? On the 4 door behind the back seats, all you have are the two side roll bars for attachment. If I rig something to where you either snap it or velcro it (the bottom of the windjammer) to the back of the back seat will it stay on with all the wind rushing in? At this point, the only points holding it on to the jeep are the two upper corners and whatever I rig at the bottom of the windjammer against the back of the rear seat.

Maybe it's too early for me to be asking this. It doesn't seem like that many people have the windjammer yet.

My girls are getting blown to shreds back there in the back seat and I want them to enjoy the ride with the top down. What can I do besides put the soft top up?

Do not get the windjammer if you expect to protect you from wind or rain!
As a matter of fact I don't know what the hell it will but take 80 bucks outta your pocket.

After 3 months of it being backordered I just received on. It has at least 10" of open space on both side after installed...very disappointed in this product. I will return it...Bestop needs some new designers
