Hi - when you bent the antenna, did you do it right on the Jeep or did you take the antenna off first? Any suggestions on how to bend (so I don't snap it)? I think I'll be doing the light install tonight or Saturday.

Thanks,
DJR

...hey DJR, i just bent 'em while attached to the jeep. really no big deal, two bends and the radio reception is still solid.

...i figured if i did f$%# it up i would just purchase a stubby antennae but it turned out well and money saved.

My wife already voted for the second.
Nope.. it's not you. I had the exact same issue with the bracket - it feels like to get the holes to line up right, the bracket has a little bit of a lean angle; try to get it straight and the holes don't line up.

I was about to get these but i went with the smitty ones and love them. I had some KC brackets but they obstruct my line of vision specially on curves.

Smittys are low and out, another nice bonus is that you can raise your wiper and clean your windshield, you can not do this with the KC. Also, i did not bend my antenna, just use the included bracket to hold it and run it trough the KC stone guard (put a tie wrap to hold it agains the platic guard and avoid hittng the glass).

Default Install

Is there a write up on windshield bracket lights? I tore the stuff out of two bolts last night trying to install the RR. Should be a pretty easy install right? Yeah, that's what I tell myself EVERY SINGLE TIME but it NEVER happens. Then the lower bolt on the passenger side wouldn't catch. I am mostly looking for where to run the wire and where most have put the ground. Any suggestions on replacement bolts would be appreciated as I need to replace two that are stripped. I need to figure out how to get them out first! On the drive into work this morning I noticed how much these RR take up the field of view. Now I'm thinking of returning them after reading this. A write up would still be nice to see. Thanks guys.

I found the Mopar instructions which will help but I need to get the bolts off and replaced. Any tips/ideas?

I was finally ready to order some light brackets and noticed the later posts about the Olympic brackets having a lean. That concerns me of course. Can anyone else that has them comment?

I'm starting to lean back towards the Smittybilt brackets. My only concern is that a light with a long mounting stud might not fit since the bracket is so low to the fender. Anyone run into any problems?

Thanks!
