Winter/Salt Preparation
For those of you who have to deal with the winter salt problem what measures do you take to protect your Jeep ? I just installed a full RK 3.5 lift that looks great and the last thing I want is everything rusting out. I plan to Por 15 all metal parts but wanted to hear how you guys protect your aftermarket lift kit components. Can you put undercoating or Por 15 directly on things like control arms or can it mess up the bushings etc ...just looking for some advice .. Thanks
I get my 4 dr 09 done at KROWN rust control every year..... My buddy does non drip oil spraying now so I went there this year and he really drenched it
but you're still going to get surface rust on some components can't help that..... I just don't want my frame, doors etc rusting thru in 5 years...... Over the winter take time to wash off the grime as well.

Glad you brought this topic up. Reminded me to look into this before it gets to cold outside. My Jeep took a beating last winter from the calcium chloride that they use here in Wisconsin, in addition to regular salt. I'm looking at a product called Fluid Film. Haven't used it yet.
The nice part is it doesn't look permanent, clearish when applied. Use anywhere. Not black and gummy like rubber undercoat. But only last 1 winter.
