Default winter tires

Getting to be that time of year again but this year, i'm on 5.38 gears and 38s which will not be good in the snow. What is the largest skinniest Duratrac or snow tire they make? i'd be okay with going as small as 35s but no smaller. I'd prefer 11" max width but I don't know if they are available that skinny. I have to get new wheels for these because I have 17x10" wheels so diameter does not matter.

35's are their biggest tire probably measuring out at 34.5" .... Snowflake rated great tire in winter!! I run them in that size and 12.5" wide on steelies here in Canada the past 3 winters and they do great.... Summer I'm on 37" MTR's

Most off road tires are great winter tires, just air down a bit for foot print.

most off road tires are not good in snow on roads. the lugs are far apart so less surface contact with the road. also, unless they are made for cold weather, the compound gets very hard with the cold weather and they lugs become as worthless as wooden tires. the duratracs are good because they are siped and they don't get hard in the average cold weather bout. duratrac makes some large tires but not necessarily narrow. wide tires tend to float on the snow/slush and not cut through to the pavement. ideally, looking for Siped , 10-11" wide, 35" or larger.

My 315/70/17's Firestone Destination M/T's have never failed me in snow, rock and or mud....I have also put 35,000+ miles on them and have another 15,000 to 20,000 miles that I could put on them with no issues! The tires can be studded if your state allows it as well.

if you're looking for a 17" I would go with these personally Exo Grappler All Weather Traction Light Truck Tire

In a 16" I would go with the General Grabbers AT2 - snowflake approved and studdable.. better than the duratracs which I find highly overrated in my opinion.
