Default Winter Wheel Change?

Hey guys I bought my jeep in the beginning of the summer and I put new XD monsters on it about a month later and some people are telling me to put my stock wheels back on because during the winter the salt will ruin them and I definetly dont want that. Should I switch them out or leave them be?

If you take the time to take care of your wheels they wont rust up on you. Road salt will speed up the destructive process. I personally try to hose mine off once a week during the winter to get all the crap off and give them a good wipe down here and there and have been going strong for a few years. Doesn't take much, but having a second set of wheels won't kill ya, just cost more.

Are your wheels polished, chromed or black?

I have black wheels on my jeep and superduty and they seem to repel the salt and magchloride used here in northern colorado. They still look new.

I agree. I would only be concerned with polished or chrome wheels. And whatever the finish, spray them off as often as possible

What's the difference between aftermarket wheels and the stock ones that came on the jeep? Mine are black, but the salt didn't do anything to my stock wheels through 2 winters? is there a finish that comes on aftermarket that doesn't come on stock that the salt wears away?
