Wiring a Mopar Dana44???
I just installed a Mopar Dana44 and have decided to wire it outside the computer so that I can lock it with a toggle switch (and without the rear if nessasary). I have read all the threads that I could find on the D44 but I still have some questions. So who's done it themselves and whats the lowdown?
1. There are two connectors on the axle. I presume one is to actuate the locker and the other is to indicate if it engaged and disengaged?
How is the locker actuated? Does 12V flow through it the whole time it is engaged (like an ARB and air) or is it like a door lock? Send 12V+ and it engages, 12V- and it disengages?
2. Is the above true?
3. Does (+) engage and (-) disengage?
4. What kind of relay will work for this?
5. If it fails to engage due to tire orientation, will I have to retoggle to switch?
6 I would like to have an indicator light to say when the locker is engaged. Does engaging the locker simply close a 12V circuit or is there more to it?
7 I have an X with the rear locker from the factory and DO have both factroy relay near the battery. Can this be used?
Thanks in advance.
