Default Wobble when cold??

So for the last month or so I've been getting a wobble at 40-45 mph only. Speed up or slow down and it stops. But as soon as I hit 40-45 it starts again. It all started after I did a wheeling run up spring creek. Nothing broke or anything but I did slam into a boulder with my front tire that put me to a complete stop. Hit it at about 5-10 mph. There was a shelf road on the passenger side and I glanced in the mirror to make sure I was spaced from the edge of the trail and didn't see the boulder in front and slammed it.

It's not as bad as death wobble but it's bad enough to where the whole jeep shakes and forces me grab the steering wheel tight or ill loose control.

Checked everything. Ball joints are good. Loosened and re torqued everything In the front end. Track bar and drag link are good. Pitman arm is good. Stabilizer is good.Got the tires balanced twice and it seems to go away for a few weeks then returns.

One thing I did notice is it mostly happens when it's cold out, like 50 degrees and below. It still happens when it's warmer but not nearly as bad. Sometimes when it's really hot it's barely noticeable. But every time it's cold out its worse than before.

Starting to wonder if it can be a rubber bushing somewhere than when it's cold and stiffens up cause play somewhere??

Is this possible? Anything guess to what it can be?

Running a 3.5" lift just coils and a 1" spacer. No adjustable track bar or longer end links in the rear. 37" tires.

What are you running for tires? Sounds like a tire issue to me if everything else is good should not be a bushing .

Sounds like a tire with nylon belts, and you shifted one just a little bit. Nylon belts do flat spot a bit on cold mornings till they warm up.

Rotate fronts to rear. Do one side then the other to determine the bad tire.

My jeep has done this since I've owned it.
Doesn't matter what tires, what axle, what parts. Front Driveshaft in, or out. I feel like I have tried everything.
It did it with my Dana 30.
Does it with my PR 44. Everything on the front end was brand new, tie rod, drag link, ball joints,2 different sets of tires, still does it.
Added hydro assist and I just barely feel it now. Right at 40 mph, stops at 42, then smooth as a Cadillac.

I would pull that tire you hit and put the spare on it, see if it makes any difference.

If it does not, you may have bent something.

I would check and potentially replace your unit bearings. Or at least the one you hit. Mine does the exact same things, and like was said above, even with hydro I can slightly feel it. It's less noticable on hot days, and only for the first few miles. I would suspect the bearing is worn, and when it heats up it firms up.

It's livable for me for now, but I may replace them soon and see if it solves my issue.

I would check your tie rode extension mounting bracket. Some times when the bushing is cold it will cause it to happen. After the bushing warms up it goes away.

update,

Well, the wobble went away a few weeks ago and never came back. Did notice my jeep is now wondering all over the damn place. Loose steering...

Checked my ball joints again and sure enough, this time its got some play. A lot of play on both fronts. Even noticed a popping sound this morning...

Ordering some Teraflex Ball joints now.

Im guessing it was the ball joints all along. and now that they have so much play the wobble went away.
