Question woods steering stabilizer relocation kit

This is probably a dumb question, but what is the purpose of the woods steering stabilizer relocation kit?

To raise the SS higher and out of the way of being struck by rocks or other trail obstacles.

mine paid for itself less than 2 hours after the install when my cousin accidentally put my jeep through the chain link fence next to our driveway. one of the upright poles went right under the center of the jeep and drug across the bottom- right where the evap and ss USED to be. it's been an exciting day to say the least

Made my first trip out today since lifting my JK. I put the RE 3.5"Superflex Kit with 35" Mud Grapplers. I took my chances without skids and got lucky while driving the trails (Mud, Rocks, Rivers) and climbing Quary Walls. Two Minor Damages:

BROKEN STEERING STABILIZER

Seperated almost all of the rear fender flair.

I took off the stabilizer and drove without the finish the day. I wish I would have seen this post yesterday. I didn't know they made relocation kits.

The alternative is: just take the shock off before you wheel....

Does anyone with the SS relocation bracket feel that by placing the point of connection for the shock farther away from the axle, it puts more strain on the track bar bracket? Probably over thinking it...

Good point. I already changed to the Teraflex stabilizer, so probably the smart thing to do NOW! And that easy, another purchase is made! Be here in two days! I will have to paint this black before install.

Hey Joe,
Thanks for the great write-up and pics!! I've had this kit for a while but haven't gotten around to install it. Now I'm motivated!
