Default Worth replacing factory limited slip with selectable locker?

Been kickin' this around for a while now, and want to get some other opinions, I have an 07 unlimited, auto :(, with 4:10's and a limited slip rear, 35's on aev 3.5 premium. 4:10's are decent for now, but will regear in future, question is, is it worth replacing the LSD with selectable locker while I'm in there. Only get to wheel couple times per month but it is not a daily driver. What do you guys think?

Of course, it depends on how you wheel. In any case, the factory LSD is a weak LSD at best and changing it out to a more effecient LSD or locker is a great idea if your doing gears anyway.

If your regearing, my experience would suggest doing a locker too. I tried to get by on my X's posi rear only to grenade it when on some slick rock wheel'n. The gears in the carrier blew then shrapnel toasted my 5.13 r&p. Wheeling twice a month is pretty good, not "light wheeling", a great rear mod might be the ARB with the 35 spline axle shaft upgrade. Great locker and axle shafts that will hold up to those 35's ( sure one day you'll move up to 37's). Got a bent stock rear axle shaft sitting out back in the barn from when I "light wheeled" on 35's a couple years ago. I've heard folks say "spend your $$ once", and I've sure done my part to not adhere to that sound advice.

Can't really go wrong with the ARB + compressor, if you have the funds. If you want to keep the costs down a bit, you could look at a Detroit. And you could also consider a TrueTrac, which would be a great replacement for a factory l/s.
