I'm not against superchargers, I have one in my Mustang GT and love it. It's tuned right, boosted to 10 psi, I drive the hell out of it and don't care if the engine blows. When it does, I'll pull it and rebuild it.
But Jeeps are not sports cars. The sweet spot on my Mustang is between 3500 and 5000 RPM, that's where it makes all it's power. Try crawling with those RPM's. I'm doing a 5.7L Hemi swap right now in my Jeep. Big engines with big low end torque is the way to go in a truck or a jeep. On the other hand, there is the new Ford V6 twin turbo with like 500 ft/lb of torque at about 2500 RPM. Just mind blowing, diesel like power.
There's having fun and then there's beating on it.

Last March I had Fusion D-60 & D-80 axles installed and also went to 40" tires. That really killed the power so I bought a Prodigy Turbo. So far I have just under 4,000 miles and am very happy with it. The factory tune they supplied has been totally trouble free, with absolutely no issues. It runs about 10 degrees warmer than before, so here in the AZ heat it runs around 210 at freeway speed. It does require Premium Fuel though.

Where in AZ are you? I easily get to 235-240 on the freeway when climbing a grade on the I17 north of Phoenix. I have a stock 3.6 with 5.13’s and 37’s.

I ask because I’m tired of my gutless engine and I’ve considered a magnusun supercharger or a 5.7 hemi swap.

Post in different thread says his Prodigy tune is kicking fan on high at 190°. That right there makes all the difference. I wish I didn't have to kick mine to high with every single ignition cycle, but it's better than nothing.

I saw that, but from what I’ve seen in the MoTech videos, the pentastar fan shouldn’t be on high that much because the wiring isn’t large enough to handle that constant higher current.

To be honest, a part of me wouldn’t mind if my engine blew right now. A healthy engine is the only thing stopping me from putting a v8 in my Jeep. I’m absolutely tired of the lack of power.

Sorry...not sure how I put my reply in another section...but anyway I was concerned if the wiring supported the fan at high speed for so long, and I'm working on a heavier gauge work around. I really wanted the Motech V-8 but due to parts issues they were way out. A friend of mine met a guy at his work that had just gotten his JL back after Motech had it for for 6 months. He said he didn't blame Motech for the delay as they kept him informed, and was extremely happy with the V-8, but still, to be without your ride for 6 months is a long time. The shop I had install my turbo has installed most of the major brands of SC's and said that he lost a lot of time in each install because all were difficult to get questions answered from their tech lines...always waiting for a call back, and almost all his customers were unhappy for one reason or another, including idle issues, shifting, and fuel related. He was very impressed with Prodigy in that he either got right through or they called him back with a few minutes. Prodigy had him send certain info including the tire size, gearing, etc., and then they created a custom tune which they sent back to him and he installed through the HP Tuner. Those that live in Az are probably familiar with the hill coming south out of Camp Verde on I-17. I believe it's around 10 miles long and 6-8% grade. I was able to hold 75 mph all the way up, in 4th gear on my 40's at 28 psi. the temp got to 242 by the top. The temp that day was in the upper 80's. Before the turbo, on 37's @35 psi, and 5:13's I was at 40 mph in 3rd gear, and at around 235. I really miss the sound of a V-8 and the advantages of a 10 speed AT, but for 1/3 the amount I'm pretty happy.

2010 Wrangler 4 Door 3.8L/3.73 GR/stick-its heavy. RTT, Gobi roof rack, tire carrier, fridge etc.
-35' boots
-aFe manifold-aFe CAI
-Flowmaster 50 for JK
-Superchips TD2

Barely enough power. It is definitely better then before but I don't have any extra power per say. After 10 years of solo overlanding (actually offroading, not camp sites or dirt roads), I'm leaning towards building a trailer from scratch. I have a V8 sitting waiting in my garage.

As for super chargers, why would anyone spend that amount of money to essentially polish a turd? You'll be over exceeding the threshold of the engine with a super charger at one point or another and just begging for problems. The 3.8 or 3.6 aren't performance engines where you slap on a super charger and expect it to work forever. You significantly reduce the life of the engine and are very prone to issues. Only difference is you're in the bush and not a track. Then again, most Jeeps aren't in the bush nowadays lol
