Default Wrangler Duratrac Vs Kuhmo Venture MT

I am looking for some tire advice. I am looking for a tire that handles well for an everyday driver, but also will give me the best performance off road. I do mostly mud and water holes no rock climbing. I am leaning towards the Kuhmo's because they look more aggresive and seem like they would handle the trails better. If it makes any difference, I am going with the 315/75R16

What do you guys think?? Any advice??

Well if you run into mud/water more then rocks go with a mud terrain. I was in the same spot but with the falkens and mtr kevlars

I had the Kumho MTs a few years back and didn't like them. Mind you, I had them on a 1/4 ton truck not a JK. I found them really rough on the highway and really loud, too. I also didn't like that they were directional. I run Hankook Dynapro MT's in the summer on my JK now and I love them. Not noisy, not rough, tough as nails, and great performers in the muck. I plan on getting the Duratracs for my next set of winter tires.

PS - I should mention that I did like the Kumho tires in the mud. I just didn't like their on-road manners.

Default Goodyear Duratrac

I don't have any experience with the other tire but I can tell you I'm thoroughly impressed with the Duratrac's. I have the 315's. I've had them on ice, snow, mud, rocks, normal mixed trail and of course the road. They have performed what I would consider above average in all conditions.

Tires that I've had previous experience with are BFG Mud Terrain, BFG All Terrain, Goodyear MTR (non-mtr) and Yokohama AT's.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Duratracs for the last 3 years. My jeep is a daily driver with lots of highway miles in the summer, and they stay on for our 6 months of ice and snow here. Great off road too but I don't have too much experience in thick mud.
