wrangler duratracs
The size of the tire can also effect the balance. I have 285/70/17 Duratracs and they mounted and balanced just fine. Had them for over a year and off-roaded twice so far with them. Still balanced fine and drive great.
I've had them on a work truck (Ram 1500) and my new JK.
Never heard or experienced balance issues. Good road manners, great in snow and offroad.
Only issue I've noted to date is that as they wear down, road noise increases...but thats normal for deep tread offroad tires IMO. Also, IF you DON'T rotate often, they cup like a MOFO (which leads to more road noise).
Overall; definitely a tire worth giving a go.

In April it will have been three years having these tires. I like them a lot, initially I had 245/75/16s for a year and a half and then I switched to 285/70/17s and still love them. The shop did not have any problems with installing anything, no vibration at highway speeds, they are quiet and have a good tread life/even tread wear depending on what pressure you run. When I get 35s I will be getting these again, no point to change.
I've had mine now for about 1000 miles and am very impressed. There was zero issues balancing the 317/70/17 and except for minimal road noise and drop in gas mileage I love these tires. We are getting hammered here in Chicago right now and this thing is unstoppable with these tires. You'll have no regrets.
I have E rated Duratracs that have about 20K on them and they run perfectly fine. I rotate them every 6000 miles. Still look new and work great in all weather on road and do really well offroad.
The only people that I've heard with sidewall trouble are running other than E rated tires.

I had some Duratracs, unfortunately I made the mistake of a C load range.. Don't do it. Stick with an E load range and they are great. A little soft and easy to chip on rock, even river rock, but great as far as ATs are concerned in mud.
