Default X with 32s Shock Question

Jeep newbie here. I am considering ordering a X with auto and ac only. I would like to add 32” wheels. Since the Sahara and Rubicons come with 32s I assume there wouldn't be a clearance problem with the X (?) but would I have to upgrade the shocks to handle the extra wheel weight?

What about speedometer calibration?

Use will be 89% pavement 10% rough gravel road and 1% no road at all but no rock crawling (Let's see, 89+10+1 Yeah, that all adds up :-) plus a week a year when it snows.

Hey swiftymorgan, welcome to JK-Forum Before I answer your question, I should first point out that only the Rubicon comes with 32's. Sahara's do not but they do come with optional 18" wheels. To answer your question, yes, running 32's should be no problem at all especially if you got the 17x7.5 wheels with your X. If you got the 16x7's, you'll have to make sure the width of the tires aren't too wide for the wheels. You will not need to get new shocks and I would think that the speedo shouldn't be effected too much but, you can have it set at your dealer.

Well, the Sahara can be ordered with P255-70R18, which calculates to 32.05", about the same as the Rubicon (32.06") I don't know what the actual sizes are, though. And of Course these are a much more street-friendly tread pattern.

Poking around the Jeep website I was able to “build” an X with 32s although I'm not crazy about the appearance of the Jeep wheels. I would like to get as much as possible from the factory for insurance and warranty reasons. I have a gazillion more questions but I'll try to meter them out a little at a time. Thanks for replies, I'm looking forward to seeing some pics of an X with 32's

I just put on (Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 265/75/16) on my X. They look great and with no rubbing problems.

Were these what you got from the factory, or did you add these after getting your jeep?
