I think you would be better off selling your rear d44 and buying a used rubi 44 for the front.

I had thought about that but I have a shop owner friend of mine that is willing to give me a free d44 rear from another x...I was curious if I could take some of the stuff off my d30 and use it all but the ring and pinion

I say go for the used Rubi 44.
Ditto. Sell it and buy one from a Rubi.

Move the 44 to the front and put the 30 in the rear and do some trick rear steer.

Another thing that makes this impossible is the fact that the passenger side axle tubing is twice as long which means youd be short a foot with a rear dana 44. If you wanna save money go figure out how to put 1 ton axles in it.

Just wondering how much could you get a used rubi 44 ? front and rear ? Best like lucky price and the most common pricing ? This is for something I'm looking at doing down the road
