From X Shocks To Rubicon
So my 2007 X 4dr shocks/springs really suck. I want a much softer ride because my Jeep feels every bump in the crappy roads of Los Angeles. I heard that OME shocks were the best for being soft but I also hear that the Rubi shocks and coils are great. The end result I want is to ride over bumps with minimal impact. I'm a newbie to Wranglers but not Jeeps in general so feel free to chime in. My question is, if I can get all of of the Rubi parts below (plus the coils might give me a lift) for only $100 should I take the Rubi route??
This of course would be much cheaper than the Teraflex BB plus OME cost - around $650 for all of those.
I was also told that there were different size Rubi coils so what are the best ones to get the highest lift? Isnt there a thread on this?
What would you do and why?

The rubicon springs will be stiffer... If your after a softer ride... Try getting a good set bilsteins... If your after a cheap lift get a set of coil spring spacers... And shock extensions or taller bilstiens... It's tuff trying to soften your ride while trying to lift it at the same time.... Especially on the cheap $IDE!!! Also depending on your tire size try lowering you tire pressure a little... May hurt you MPGs a bit but could soften you up a lot. Good luck!

Coil spring spacers will not change your ride at all, they are only a spacer that goes on top of your factory coil springs. You can change the shocks to soften the ride a little but you will never get a car-like ride in a JK. If you’re looking to do a small lift and stay mild with your tire height there are lots of options but you aren't going to get much relief on the horribly maintained SoCal roads.
