Default XD Wheel Offsets and backspacing

Looking to run an 18x9 XD wheel and wondering what specs you guys are running in this size wheel on the JK.

I currently have a TF level kit installed and will be looking to run a 275/70 or a 285/65. I think the 295/65 is just a bit to wide of a tire for me and was thinking for a long time this was the for sure size I was getting until I saw them on another JK sticking out almost 2" from the outside fender. Its not the look Im after, I prefer the tires/wheels to sit flush as possible to the outer fenders.

I have a 2013 JKU, from what I was able to gather in my research the OEM wheels are 18X7.5 with a 6.25" backspace which is a +51mm offset.

XD offers a 5.71" backspace version of the 18X9 which if I did my math correctly is a + 18 offset which translates to 13mm extra clearance in the back of the wheel and pushes the outside of the wheel 51mm out toward the fender. In my opinion, this would be the equiv (or pretty damn close to) running a 2" spacer on the stock wheels WITH ROUGHLY 1/4 of the inside clearance a 2" spacer would get you on the stock wheel.

They also offer a -12 offset which is close to a 4.5" backspace that I know many are running on a 12"+ wide tire and would be the ideal offset for a tire that wide.

My question is simple, what's the best wheel spec for my application understanding i"m trying to go for the flush look. Meaner with out being to aggressive you could say.

If you have pics of your set up please post them. I'd like to see the difference in these offsets/back space if possible.

thanks!

I just upgraded from my 18" XD monsters, they were +18 offset with 275/70 terra grapplers. Stayed flush inside the fenders like you want.

I have the +18 monsters as well and are very happy with that offset.
