the bumper does fit around the stock reciver but not the stock tow hook. which is okay for me since it comes with the D rings.

They sell a 3rd brake light if you want one or I suppose you could mod your old one to fit, but you can't just bolt it onto your XHD.

For the other questions about the tow hitch and hook, the stock tow hitch stays on but the tow hook has to be removed.

It's not even close, theres a nice even gap all the way around and no signs of rubbing. I also have the tire carrier linkage, but it all seems to be fairly snug. I can re-create the rattle if I knock the hell out of the tire, but everything attached to the tire is tight and there are no cracks in the mount.

I'm not trying to hijack the post, but does anyone have any ideas or tips when tracking down a rattle in the XHD?

When you buy the matching tire carrier it comes equipped with a 3rd brake light relocation for the factory light and just fits right in....see this picture, it's all there, no need to mod or change anything, just put the light in and run the wires.

Here's the instructions to mount...

Excellent bumper here's mine....

Some sorry chap must have hit my rear bumper the other day in the parking lot because there was some blue car paint on the corner of my bumper. Never even scratched my powdercoat. Whoever it was must have a nice big dent on the side of their vehicle though.

Is there any way to rig up Jerry cans thats looks clean with this tire carrier? I really want an XHD rear to match the front, but I don't like way the Rock Hard mounts look on the XHD bumper. They are uneven and look flimsy.

I finally got mine rattle free again after I backed into a pole last week

Go and grab the tire carrier by the latch, and push up and down. If there is any sort of a gap between the landing block and the bumper itself, it will rattle like crazy. Once you check the gap, you have a few options, you can either (a.) loosen the castle nut about a 1/4 turn and it will close the gap, (b.) use the supplied shims to make contact between the landing block and bumper or (c.) adjust the slot (idk what else to call it) into which the latch catches vertically. I also had to adjust everything so that the tire carrier sits very tightly against the tailgates rubber isolators.

Try these tricks and than take a cruise with the d-rings off to make sure the noise is gone. I only advise taking the d-rings off because they can slap around a bit and make some noise too.

That's what I'm trying to figure out too. Good question!
