Default XRC bumper problem

hello

I am a fairly new Jk owner and I wonder if any one has had a problem with rear XRC bumper with the tire carrier hiting the body of jeep . it only happens when going through deep pot holes . If any one has any ideas why this happening and a fix I would really appreciate it

It's happened before. I think it's somewhere in this thread. Give it a look, I'm too lazy to search through it all.

Here is a copy from a similar thread...if you can do a search for XRC HELP you'll find a thread on the exact topic.

Victim of the bumper hitting the passenger side body. After the first install of the XRC - driver side had a 1/4" gap, but the passenger side only had about 1/16". Well I opted to not do the washer body lift, guess I just like the pain of removing the bumper. Today I took the XRC back off the jeep and opened up the 4 holes in the frame crossmember. After reinstalling I now have a 1/4" gap between the body and the bumper on both the driver and passenger side. Took it for a test drive and no more bump, thump, knock....wow what a difference....

You have to drill out the 4 holes in your frame. The ones that the factory hitch (or rear tow hook if you do not have the tow package) uses to 1/2 or a little larger.
