Exclamation XRC10 Comp winch line install problem

First off, I'm stupid. Here's what I did.

Got the winch mounted and was starting to install the synthetic winch line. I've never done this before so I start looking around the drum for a hole and found one. It's a recessed allen-head bolt that, in retrospect, looks like the way you can lube the drum (just looked this up and it's called a "dog point set screw").

Anyway, I remove this bolt and try to attach the winch line there with the supplied bolt. Didn't fit. So, I use the winch controller to rotate the drum so I can see it better. After scratching my head for a long time... I realize that the winch line attaches to the side of the drum and not the drum. Now I'm thinking "problem solved" and got the winch line attached to the proper place.

However, now I can't get the recessed allen-head bolt back in the hole on the drum. It only goes in half way. Looking at this closer, it looks like the recessed bolt is bottoming out. The only thing I can think of is that there's a lube hole on the inside of the drum that must be lined up so the recessed bolt can go into it.

I've tried rotating the drum in both directions (both in "free spool" by pulling the cable and under power with the winch controller) and can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Ideas?

Thanks,
-Charles
