Unhappy Xtreme heavy duty rear bumper ordering problem?

I've been trying to order the Omix heavy duty rear bumper since
the beginning of spring. I keep getting responses (sales rep) that it's on back order
and pushed back another month again and again. The latest news is that
the order is pushed back again till September. Anybody else having the same problems?

I guess the Chinese manufacturers aren't working up to speed.

Default Me too!

Yes, I have the same issue.

I ordered the Rugged Ridge XHD rear bumper/tire carrier combo in April from Quadratec. I have been languishing in back order hell ever since.

I've heard that industries in China have stopped working in order to create less pollution for the Olympics.

I too have a rear bumper on order since early April, have another date of late August to ship.

Might I suggest RockHard. The are built like the proverbial brisk ****house. A buddy who is a welder came over last Saturday to help me weld on my ORE C2 gussets. After looking at the RockHard bumpers he said that is what he would build if cost were not an object. They are certainly a whole lot better than anything from China and they are available.

heavy duty.... lol
My reaction exactly. Heavy Duty and Chinese is an oxymoron. I've dealt with some "Heavy Duty" Chinese products when our purchasing people got stupid. Substitute soft for HD and you get the drift. Their metalurgy sucks. And some of you want to run a Chinese bumper. Don't post to the forum about how it didn't do the job in an accident or didn't do well during a recovery effort.

There are a lot of good folks here in the US that make quality bumpers; some are expensive and some are more modestly priced. Why don't you (not talking to Piginajeep here) give your business to them? If you don't pretty soon all we'll have available is Chinese ****.

Default RR rear bumper update

I spoke with Rugged Ridge in Juney. They expect the bumpers to be shipped to them in mid July, arriving in late August (maybe!). I have been on the Rugged Ridge run around since December'07, told they were due in 30 days when I placed my order with 4 Wheel Parts. After numerous phone calls by 4 Wheel Parts on the status we were told they were in sample stage, then production stage, then back to sample stage and then in production with a delivery of June, then in July and now in August.
BUT, they do not have any idea when the tire carrier component will be available. Maybe late 2008 or in 2009! I told them for me the rear bumper was useless without the tire carrier, they had no response.

4 wheel supply has the front bumpers, I received mine yesterday. Nothing on a rear one nor the front skid.

There is any easy work around..Build Your Own Bumper.. Thats what I am going to do. And when I do I will post on the write ups. If you build your own it is exactly what you want. No logo's cut into bumper,no it's not wide enough,or Its to wide. Be an investment in yourself. If you put your mind to it you can do it.
