Default yet another wheel question

Hey Wayalife,
I tried a set of the Procomp 8179's like yours (trying to support the sponsers here) but they stick out to far from the flares.
In this climate I need the tires pretty much under the truck.
Do you have any thoughts on other wheel options.
I want to stay with 17's as the stock tires on the Rubicon are too good to throw away this early.
I might go a size bigger when the existing tires wear out.
I love the look of the Procomps but didn't like the fit.
Judging from the photo's in your gallery it looks like there are some rubbing issues as well.
Guess I'm looking for 17 x 7.5 to 17 x 9.
Thanks in advance.
I love the site.

Exclamation Backspacing

Your stock wheels have around 6.25in backspacing, your new wheels have around four, I would guess. Lower Backspacing pushes the wheels out further, so you can run a wider tire without rubbing.

Why do you need your wheels under your flares?

How about 17x8.5 25mm offset (5.75" BS) V-Tech Off-road

This wheel has just been released. It will sit within 1/2" from the fender giving you room for a slightly wider than stock tire; 275.70.17, 285.70.17.

This is a great option for a stock height, leveled or mini lifted Jeep.

It is also available 17x8.5 with 0mm offset (4.75" BS) and comes in Black or Chrome finishes. 17x8.5 with a 4.75Bs would put your wheel about 1/2" outside the fender.

i paln on running the cragar d window wheels 17x9. they have a 5 inch backspace. my brother in law has the soft 8's 17x8 and has 4.5 inch of backspace and his stick out about 3 inches from the flares. so i ll be a little more. if anyone gives me trouble i will put some of that flare trim that you can just screw on. it comes in a roll and is easy on the wallet than the bushwackers!

Anyone see problems running 35x12.5 TRXUS MT's on 17x9 wheels with 5" of backspacing. This is on an '07 Rubicon with 3" FT lift, and preferably no spacers. My math shows this resulting in more room than the 32"x10" stock tires on 17x7.5 with 6.5" backspacing, but the whole thing makes my head hurt. Any help is appreciated.
