Default Yet Another Wheel/ Tire Question

Alright, I'm about to splash out for some new rims and tires finally. My plan is to get 285/ 70 R X17 (33's) goodyear Duratracs and the Cragar wheels in the link below.

My question: Is there any advantage to 17 x 9 rims vs. 17 x 8?

My vehicle is a DD so it's totally stock and I don't have any plans for major mods. Just looking for some better tires for snow and ice as well as some moderate offroading. I considered just getting tires and spacers, but since wheels really don't cost all that much more than just the spacers I figured I'd get soemthing that looks cool too.

Thanks!

The only advantage would be the fact that you could fit a wider tire with the 9s. If you don't air down offen and offroad hard and it's your DD then the 8s will be perfectly fine. I run 12.5 s on 16x9s
