Default YIKES! Rethinking a BB, help me with these concerns

OK
I was all set on getting a BB just for looks and a little bigger tires

Now I have read in a couple posts the alignment is never right after
this and all kinda other worries??

Tell me what concerns there are?
If I am always going to have problems with
alignment and my tires not balancing a BB
may not be for me....

Some say when doing a BB if you dont replace your shocks
the ride on roads will be very stiff and others say you must repace your
shocks if you want a good on road ride?

Whats the story???
I was all set to go with the BD 2 in lift.

I had the same concerns initially as the Jeep is my wifes DD. I put the FT 2" BB w/m-force shocks on to add a conservative amount of lift to clear the new tires. I also bought an adjustable front track bar to correct the axles, but have yet to use it. While the axles are slightly off, it drives great and I have no concerns. In fact I went to install the track bar, and it's not offset enough to make a difference. I am going to go a little higher with a spring lift now, as I am not so worried about lifting this Jeep!

Just buy one and try it for yourself!!!! If you dont like it, take it off and sell it in the for sale section. The Tera BB rides PERFECTLY straight and with the shock extensions it rides EXACTLY like stock. Which is pretty good on my rubicon. The only alignment I had to do was to recenter the steering wheel. It took 4 or 5 tries to get it PERFECT and took a total of 10 minutes including short test drives.

For one, tires not balancing has nothing to do with a BB.

There are many people that have BB's and have had zero problems with it. I had my Teraflex 2.5" BB for about 8000 miles with no issues at all. The tires wore perfectly!

As far as shocks, I went ahead and got their shocks with it. It drove great and for an extra $100 it's worth it (at least to me).

My personal preference is to go with a 2.5" BB not the 2". I just liked the way the 2.5" looked with the 33's. It also worked well with my 35's. I've since changed the springs to 3.25" and added track bars.

Good luck

I am in the same boat as tool_man except I drive it. Put an FT BB w/M-Force on. Have the adj track but still have not installed. Rides great and no alignment problems. Love the shocks. Went with them vs buying someones Rubi's since I heard they are less stiff feeling.

I have read the majority of people going with the Teraflex BB as being very happy with the results as well.

Go for it!

X3! I've got TF 2.5" BB with shocks and stock Rubi 32's before and 35's now. I've driven over 10,000 miles since installed the BB. I've been to some Jeep trails also (check my pics). I haven't had any problem whatsoever on the pavement or off-road.

I have the Black Diamond 2" lift with shocks and love it. The ride is as good if not better than stock, I have not had any problem with alignment.
