Default Yokohama Geolander M/T's

Anyone have experience with these? I had my heart set on Nitto Mudgrapplers, but I think I might try something a little less aggressive, and something that I can get in a 35/12.50/15.
The Geolanders always kinda caught my interest when I had my TJ, but I never talked to anyone that had them before. I would think being directional, they would be half descent in snow, and pretty good in mud. Kinda worrieda bout ice though with the lack of siping.

They have decent traction and foot print...the sidewalls are ok, but not especially tough, but good enough for most trail work if dry and you don't hit sharp rocks with the sidewalls. (Wet rubber cuts are worse)

You can get a siping and grooving iron and simply add sipes, etc...where you want them....its not that hard to do, its just a bit tedious to do manually for 5 tires...the siping machines can make short work of it though...at maybe $25/tire or so.

great tires if you can get a deal.

my buddy has them on his 93 ZJ and loves them

I had the HTs on my 98 ZJ and got over 55,000 on them.

well made. I went a different rout but those were my first choice, but got a better deal on the MAxxis

One of my friends runs those Yoko Directional MT's. They were great offroad till it got wet. They didn't have great traciton in the snow either. I siped them for him. They are much better now. I went with the ProComp X-terrains because of the simular tread design and they are already siped. We are both happy with our tires. The best advantage I have noticed running these directional tires is the wet road traction. Hydorplaning is not much concern any more.

His truck is a lifted Taco. I'm running the X-terrains on my Jeep and have run them on my lifted silverado.

Anyone else tried these tires or have photos?

I am buying some new 35s today and throwing around all of my options. All I know is I need 35x12.5x17 and I want load range C or D. I do a lot of highway driving (20k a year at least), but also wheel it maybe 1 time per month on average at RC offroad park.

These are cheapest MT tires around that I can find, so I am at least going to consider them. Also they are directional and load D, so I thought they may be a nice daily driver MT.

I realize the Goodyear MTR is probably the best all around tire for my situation, also considering Cooper STT, but just wanted opinions on this one.

I am having a hard time buying adiffrent tire than the Xterrain as it has been such an awsome tire, long lasting, good road manners, tough, and works very well in all situations I have put it through.
I always want something more aggressive but I dont want to take the hit on the low milage you get out of them
