Details?
I will PM you in a moment.

I have now replaced them with Rancho RS9000XL's and the ride quality is a night-and-day improvement. The Ranchos at their stiffest setting of 8-9 provides the same ride quality as the Bilsteins which is great for high speed desert 2-tracks or body motion control while rockcrawling, but at settings 1-3 (depending on whether the hardtop is on or off) I now have an ultra-cushy ride.

Rancho shocks of the 2010's can't be compared with Rancho shocks of the 1980's. If you haven't given them a try with your own two butt cheeks, then you're really missing out.

On a side note, I have a set of 4 perfectly good (but excessively stiff) Bilsteins for sale. LOL
I wouldn't say my AEV 5100's are excessively stiff, but I am not 100% sold on their ride. I have had them on for 8K. I would like an adjustable shock that will give me the ability to change stiffness. I run a pretty light Jeep with a PS Brawler Lite front bumper and no winch, no skids and a MC rear bumper and TF tire carrier. I have the AEV 2.5" kit and got a little more than 2.5". I don't want to jump into the Fox or King adjustable price range if I can avoid it. Anyone know of a part number to fit my kit?? Thanks!!

You will notice a night-and-day difference in ride quality with the Ranchos.
As for the AEV suspension, the 2.5" means about 3.0" front and about 2.0" rear lift. My 3.5" AEV suspension gave my 4-door exactly 4.0" front and 3.0" rear lift. I'm sure Rancho can quote the part numbers for the right-length shocks for your lift.

That's good to hear. I like having the ability to adjust based on terrain. Always looking for best ride quality possible.

I have had both the 5100's and now the 9000's and I would have to say the 9000's provide a much better ride, for me.

Have had the Rancho RS9000XL's with 4" Rancho Sport Lift for 4 months with 315/70R17 Duratracs. Set the knobs to 3 and really like the ride. Good control too. Never tried the Bilsteins.

I also like the ability to adjust! Been using the Rancho shocks for about 8 months now with no issues.
